I'll explore the lyrical richness of the texts and sounds that surround us in a dynamic conversation between written word and sung sound. By reading a poem and following it with its aural counterparts, each show will be a curated microcosm built around a specific feeling, moment, or idea. Perhaps we delve together into the murky, mysterious darkness of late-night existentialism or playing on your elementary school playground long after kindergarten. It's a natural pairing: singers are often poets and poets, singers. Join me on a quick walk down sonic sidewalks where Gwendolyn Brooks daps up Digable Planets, and Ross Gay whispers beautiful grief and riotous joy to Sufjan Stevens.
